Why does it seem that this drought is being controlled by a greater power and that we are just tiny little ants running around mucking up everything.

Somewhere out there on the river is beauty and isolation. Unlike our lives of busy-ness, days are simply spent. There is still stress like what's left to eat and where to camp, but I prefer it. I guess something happened to me way back in the 70's when I began running rivers. After owning a river company and guiding for years, I still prefer to spend my summers on a river somewhere. The only thing I care about when I get off is when do we launch again!
