There I was, in the high desert of New Mexico. The relentless sun; the raw, fierce wind; the snowless, barren landscape; the fierce snarling creatures they call “los perros de tienda” or “shop dogs” nipping at my heels, demanding the last scraps of my Salmon Jerky. And then, like a mirage or a scene from La Dolce Vita, the rogue paparazzi leapt from behind the native pinon tree and snapped a picture. Thank goodness I had on my Signature Huge White sunglasses… because in this day and age, you simply can’t afford to sacrifice style for functionality.

In other news…thank you Jon & Janet for your endless support and understanding during my period of nicotine withdrawal insanity. We are happy to announce that all Wild Mountain employees are 100% Smoke Free…well, we’re not so sure about the dogs.

goober.jpg    This guy seems to be missing from the cover of our website. He arrived last winter and kinda freaked everyone out. We are glad he is gone, but where? Keep an eye on your blogs and websites. Yes notice how his eyes are following you. Don’t leave your computer on cause we think he kinda crawls in somehow.

A day on the mountain.

Aspen Vista     Nothing beats a day on the mountain when the snow is fresh and the rest of the world is at work. It almost makes stepping back into the “rat race” worthwhile, then again maybe not.

Finally Snow

snow   It finally snowed in Santa Fe. Winter has arrived late and cold blasts of icy wind has driven snow related insanity indoors to wait it out. Some of us have braved the elements, and some of us are waiting for the sun to come out tommorrow. The wind howls outside creating drifts and frigid temperatures.

Now for something entirely different.

Burn Baby Burn  After continued drought in New Mexico, the fire season has begun. This one was caused by a powerline. It all begins on the same day that campfire bans (duh) and just throw that cigarette out the window ban (another duh) is enacted by the Forest Service. Why do people have to burn everything down. Can’t we just go out into the woods without a huge campfire blaze? Use stoves or better yet eat stuff that needs no cooking.
